Unable to site a new landfill, a solution was critical.

First ever Transfer Station on St. Croix
Strata One principals managed the design, construction and subsequent operation of a new 500 ton-per-day transfer station.
Baling Waste
More complex than a typical transfer station, the facility was built to bale and plastic-wrap 1-ton blocks of waste to stack in the landfill that would not attract birds or easily spread fire.
THE RESULT
The new St. Croix Transfer Station won the 2013 bronze medal for best new transfer station from the Solid Waste Association of North America.c
